Underwriting  ALOB

By the following module, trainees should know the organizational policies and procedures for the issue of quotations and what information must be provided, Knows the organizational policies and procedures for processing a new application, renewal, cancellation and/or an alteration to an existing risk

Objectives:

  • Knows own organization’s process for obtaining material facts (ALOB)
  • Able to explain why the duty of disclosure is important for underwriting, when and to whom it applies (ALOB)
  • Knows why material facts are important in assessing risk and can give examples
  • Knows the organizational policies and procedures for the issue of quotations, what information must be provided and which types of risks are not acceptable
  • Knows the organizational policies and procedures for processing a new application, renewal, cancellation and/or an alteration to an existing risk
  • Able to define common underwriting terminology
  • Underwriting career tracks
  • Underwriting tools/technology

Assessment Strategy:

  • post-test of 10 multiple answers questions regarding obtaining material facts , disclosure and the principle of utmost good faith through Watan First electronic exam center
  • Case Studies
  • The instructor prepare evaluation for each trainee and submit to Underwriting head to follow at job
