  • Knows the scope of cover, including policy extensions, limitations and exclusions
  • Knows own authority limits and own organization’s referral process
  • Able to describe the role of the actuary in underwriting pricing
  • Knows the factors that can affect the premium rate for an individual risk
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the reasons for premium loadings and discounts
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the significance of the Insurance claims loss ratio and the expense ratio for the pricing of a risk
  • Knows the significance of the Insurance premium payment and the ways in which premiums can be paid

Assessment Strategy:

  • post-test of 10 multiple answers questions regarding lines of business and customer segmentation, scope of cover, policy extensions, limitations and exclusions , and authority limits and referral process through Watan First electronic exam center
  • Case Studies
  • The instructor prepare evaluation for each trainee and submit to Underwriting head to follow at job
